Shiny Hoothoot is a rare variant of the Pokémon Hoothoot that has a different coloration than its regular version. Instead of its usual brown and white color scheme, Shiny Hoothoot has a darker shade of brown with yellowish-orange eyes.

In Pokémon Go, Shiny Hoothoot was first introduced in August 2019 during the Ultra Bonus Week 2 event. During this event, players had an increased chance of encountering a Shiny Hoothoot in the wild or from completing event-exclusive Field Research tasks.

Shiny Hoothoot is also available through hatching 2-km eggs, but its availability is limited. Trainers may also encounter it in raids, specifically in Tier 1 raids, but it’s relatively rare to encounter it this way.

Like all Shiny Pokémon, Shiny Hoothoot is purely cosmetic and does not provide any significant in-game advantages over its regular counterpart. However, many trainers enjoy collecting Shiny Pokémon as a rare and exciting aspect of the game.
